In my experience as a Jungian analyst, most discover their affinity for Jung and his thought by way of individual inner experience. This fact was confirmed most dramatically during my years as President of the Philemon Foundation. Emails and calls would come in from like-minded souls from every part of the world who had a dream, a synchronicity or spiritual experience that opened them to unexpected depth and wanted to share it. It seemed that the publication of the Red Book quickened this desire. Jung’s perspective on the psyche provided a touchstone for the meaning of these often life-changing events. I continue to welcome inquiries and conversations from those who have had that experience and want to know more about Jung and how his perspective can enrich their inner and outer lives.
