My therapeutic approach is informed by Jung’s discovery that one’s unlived life … is expressed continually through dreams, fantasies and other symbolic material to which
we seldom pay attention. — dr. stephen a. martin
N ADDITION to being the Delaware Valley's senior practicing Jungian analyst, my other professional activities focus on life and work of C. G. Jung and their many facets.

I am Co-Founder and President Emeritus of the Philemon Foundation, the mission of which is to prepare for publication the enormous volume of unpublished work of C. G. Jung. To date, the Philemon Foundation, established in 2003, has funded three published volumes including Jung’s legendary Red Book. Read “The Holy Grail of the Unconscious” by Sara Corbett, which profiles my role in the publication of the Red Book in the Sunday Magazine of the New York Times, September 20, 2009.

Professionally active in the Delaware Valley since 1980, I co-founded the Philadelphia Association of Jungian Analysts in 1983 and served for many years as its President. At this time, I am the Admissions Director for this vibrant, local Jungian organization that offers in-depth learning opportunities for Jungian psychology as well as Jungian analytic training.

I am the former co-editor of Jung History, the newsletter of the Philemon Foundation, and the former Editor-in-Chief of Quadrant: The Journal of Contemporary Jungian Thought, the journal of the C. G. Jung Foundation of New York.

During the last thirty years, I have lectured, presented seminars and taught classes in the Delaware Valley, throughout the United States and abroad, on most every aspect of Jungian psychology. These include living a conscious and meaningful life; the process of individuation or becoming who you are meant to be; Jung’s influence on the arts; his influence on the practice of psychotherapy and analysis as well as the of interpretation of dreams, myth and fairy tales and their relevance to our daily lives. My many publications include edited volumes and articles on these and other subjects.
